TriCity Volleyball is a Cambridge, Ontario based youth volleyball organization dedicated to developing confident, skilled, and competition-ready athletes across Waterloo Region, including Cambridge, Kitchener, and Waterloo.

We provide high-quality volleyball training focused on technical fundamentals, positional development, and long-term athlete growth in a positive, structured, and supportive environment.

Our programs include indoor volleyball training, beach volleyball development, small-group skill sessions, and 1-to-1 private coaching designed to accelerate individual improvement.

Athletes receive focused instruction in serving, passing, attacking, defensive systems, game awareness, and movement mechanics, helping players build strong foundations and advanced performance habits.

TriCity Volleyball coaches are experienced mentors committed to athlete development, confidence building, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Every training environment emphasizes safe, inclusive, and challenging skill progression suitable for beginners, developing players, and high-performance athletes.

Whether your athlete is new to volleyball or pursuing next-level competition, TriCity Volleyball offers structured pathways for growth through indoor and beach programming, positional training, and personalized private sessions.

TriCity Volleyball proudly operates in partnership with Impact Training, supporting an enhanced athlete facility and performance training centre, with space for strength and conditioning, physiotherapy, team meetings, and so much more.

Sean Manzi

22 years coaching at every level

Sean Manzi has been coaching and playing volleyball since 2003. In his 22 years of coaching experience, he has led teams at all levels from 15U to NCAA DI to Canadian USports.

As a university coach, he has produced multiple All-Conference, All-American and All-Canadian players. He has helped 7 different players go on to play professionally in Europe.

At the junior level, Sean has been a head and assistant for a handful of youth teams from San Diego to Maine. Along with coaching teams, he has also worked camps throughout North America every summer since 2003.

Shane Whalen

Shane Whalen believes that true success is achieved through commitment, hard work, and preparation. He provides athletes with the tools and guidance they need to reach their highest potential, while emphasizing that the results come from the effort they choose to put in.

Throughout his career, Shane has coached and developed athletes who have achieved success at every level, including: National and Provincial Titles, U.S. Tournament Champions, U16 Grand Prix Champions, High School Championships (boys and girls), and All-Star Game Champions.

Shayla Whalen

Shayla Whalen is a committed volleyball coach with a strong background in athletics as both a player and leader. She emphasizes technical development, strategic awareness, and teamwork, while fostering a disciplined and supportive environment for athletes. Shayla is dedicated to guiding players to reach their full potential and to promoting excellence both on and off the court. She is striving to be a professional athlete and allows her athletes to understand mindset.

💡 Fun fact: Shayla also designed the original Tri City logo, which remains a proud part of the club’s history.
